Morgan's Story

Morgan Kamille Frazier was an extremely centered and courageous little girl. Everyone knew her for the joy that radiated from her smile and the compassion that flowed from her heart. With wisdom, maturity and confidence beyond her years she deposited so much into the lives of those she knew. Her time on earth although short, was not without divine purpose.

In September 2006, at age 8, Morgan was diagnosed with rhab-do-myo-sarcoma, a cancer that develops in the muscles of young children. She underwent intensive and aggressive treatment including chemotherapy, radiation and surgery to fight the cancer. After 1 year of treatment, Morgan’s future seemed brighter than ever, as she and her family received the news that her treatment had been a success and there appeared to be "no evidence of disease.” She was then placed on maintenance care.

Morgan quickly aligned herself with what would prove to be a part of God’s purpose for her life, teaching others the importance of service.   Her heart remained connected to the kids she left behind in the hospital.  She enlisted the help of friends and neighbors and coordinated her first toy drive in December 2007. One week before the first toy drive, Morgan’s parents received the news that her Cancer was back and her options for treatment were limited.

Although the news was devasting to hear "again" she refused to give up on the toy drive and continued her efforts to bring joy to the children she was now counted among again.. On Christmas Eve 2007, Morgan hand delivered several hundred toys to the cancer families at Texas Children’s Hospital. A few days later she entered treatment for the second time. The second year of treatment did yield some progress but no cure.

Morgan, determined to envision her diagnosis as an opportunity to serve rather than a sentence, organized the second toy drive in 2008. Although challenged by the cancer and unable to walk, she coordinated the delivery of over a 1000 toys to the Cancer Center at Texas Children’s Hospital in December 2008.

Two weeks later, after intentional conversations with God and a visit with the angels, Morgan’s battle with Cancer ended at age 10, when she made her transition to Heaven on December 28, 2008.

Morgan’s unique spirit and legacy of "serving others" will live on through..
